PDF AI Summarizer (“the App”, “we”, “our”, or “us”) is a web and Android application that helps users create AI-generated summaries from PDF files they choose to upload.
1. Information You Upload
The App may process the PDF file you upload, the text extracted from that PDF, the file name, selected summary language, selected summary size, and technical request details needed to generate the summary.
2. AI Processing
When you request a summary, extracted PDF text and selected options may be sent to an external AI API provider configured by the site owner, such as OpenAI. The OpenAI API key is stored only on the server side and is not exposed in frontend JavaScript or inside the Android app.
3. Sensitive Documents
Do not upload passwords, payment information, confidential contracts, private medical records, identity documents, trade secrets, or any document you are not allowed to process with an external AI service. Use the App only with files you have permission to upload and summarize.
4. Usage Limits and Technical Data
The App may process technical data such as IP address, browser information, device information, session identifiers, request time, upload size, extracted text length, usage count, subscription status, purchase-related identifiers provided by Google Play, and error logs. This information may be used to apply free-generation limits, prevent abuse, diagnose issues, support subscriptions, and keep the App stable.
5. File Storage
The App is designed to process uploaded PDFs for summary generation. Uploaded files are handled temporarily as part of the server request flow. The App is not intended to be a long-term document storage service. Server logs may retain limited technical information for security, debugging, abuse prevention, and service reliability.
6. Android App and Local Data
The Android version may store usage limits, generation counters, subscription status, selected options, and basic app settings locally on the user’s device. This local data is stored in the app’s local storage or Android SharedPreferences and is used to provide the free preview, subscription access, and usage tracking without requiring a separate user account or database.
Users can remove locally stored app data by clearing the app data in Android system settings or by uninstalling the app. Clearing local app data may reset local free-generation counters and app preferences.
7. Google Play, Payments, and Subscriptions
If the Android version offers paid subscriptions or purchases, payments are handled by Google Play according to Google’s own terms and policies. We may receive limited purchase-related data from Google Play, such as product ID, purchase token, package name, subscription status, and related verification details needed to confirm access to paid features.
Deleting app-related data does not automatically cancel an active Google Play subscription. Users must manage or cancel subscriptions through their Google Play account.
8. AI Output
Generated summaries may be incomplete, inaccurate, or may miss context from the original document. Users are responsible for reviewing important information against the original PDF before relying on the summary.
9. Data Sharing
We do not sell personal information. Limited request, technical, payment, hosting, security, analytics, or AI-processing data may be processed by service providers only as needed to operate, secure, improve, and maintain the App.
10. Data Deletion Requests
Users may request deletion of app-related data by contacting us at [email protected]. Please include the name of the App, the email address you used to contact us, and enough information to help us identify the relevant request or technical records.
If we can reasonably identify server-side records related to your request, we will delete or anonymize them unless we need to retain limited information for legal, security, fraud prevention, payment verification, dispute resolution, or service reliability purposes.
Because the App does not require a user account, some technical logs may not be directly connected to a specific person. Temporary uploaded files are not intended for long-term storage and may already be deleted automatically as part of normal server processing.
For Android users, locally stored app data can also be deleted directly on the device by going to Android Settings, selecting the App, and using the storage clear-data option, or by uninstalling the App.
11. Children’s Privacy
The App is not intended for children under the age required by applicable law to use online AI or document-processing services without parental or guardian consent. Users should not upload children’s personal data or school, medical, identity, or other sensitive documents unless they have the legal right to do so.
